Haeckel grande collar

This piece is directly inspired by the shape of a Diatom. A microscopic algae doted with a marvelous silicon skeleton. I have made this necklace using the reproduction of a graph from an atlas of natural forms by Ernest Haeckel, 19th century German naturalist. Its marvelous illustrations have inspired two centuries of artists and designers.
